Responsible Communications

The FCC had what was called the ‘Fairness Doctrine’, which was enacted in 1949, and repealed by Reagan’s handlers in 1987. (Reagan himself had been completely senile for five years by that point.) It required that news reporting be fair and honest, under which limitations none of our current supposed news-media would be allowed to operate. Rescinding all their broadcast licenses would allow them to be re-issued to people who are actually interested in doing the job of informing our citizens of the world around them. Many of these people are trying to do that work already, and would be delighted to have the corporate propagandiers who have been preventing them from doing their jobs taken out of the way.
